Draft your public comment to the PUC as they reconsider Vermont Gas Systems Pipeline Permit!
The Addison Natural Gas Pipeline (ANGP) is bad for the planet and unsafe for our communities, yet it has been continually favored by the PUC, despite numerous violations. After 12 years, the fight isn’t over and we need your help.
When irregularities in how Vermont Gas Systems (VGS) constructed the pipeline, a small group went to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) with our concerns.
The PUC tried to fast-track the permitting process so that VGS could make changes without a full hearing. We objected, and the State Supreme Court agreed with us.
VGS is now seeking a new “certificate of public good” in order to keep the fracked gas flowing through our communities and backyards. If they aren’t granted one, they can no longer operate their pipeline.
There will be a public hearing sometime this month. We need people to show up in person or online to comment. During this session, we'll share some talking points and then have time for folks to draft brief comments to share with the PUC.
People who live and work near the pipeline deserve to know that it is safe and reliable. And when it comes to matters of public good, we all deserve a chance to make our voices heard.
We'll share the zoom link to RSVPs the morning of.
