Ask your elected officials to protect the Global Warming Solutions Act and stay in the Paris Climate Agreement

On Tuesday Jan. 28th, Governor Phil Scott's Budget Address joined the Trump administration in undermining climate progress by expressing support to roll back the science-based Global Warming Solutions Act carbon pollution reduction goals. Republican legislative leadership has also expressed support for these rollback. This means that Vermont would do nothing at a time when we are increasingly seeing the ravages of climate change.

The Governor and the Legislature urgently needs to know that this is not what Vermonters want and that we will not stand for this. Here is how we are continuing to mobilize the grassroots to lead on climate in 2025. The first step you can take is to

1) Call Governor Scott

2) Call your Legislators

3) Sign this Petition

to let them know that you want to and show up for Vermont upholding its commitments to a livable and just world and to the Paris Climate Agreement on which the GWSA is based.

Petition Text:

Dear Governor Scott,

Donald Trump has once again pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Now more than ever, it is essential that Vermont maintain its commitment to slow down the climate crisis and reduce our emissions! We cannot follow the same path as the federal administration.

While the Trump administration ignores the reality of the climate crisis and neglects our communities, our state can take the lead by defending the Global Warming Solutions Act, which aims to reduce climate pollution, speed the transition to renewable energy, and make Vermont a more resilient and affordable place for all.

We, the undersigned, urge you to stand up for climate justice and uphold our state's commitment to the Global Warming Solutions Act. With the federal government stepping down as a leader in climate action, we need state leaders like you to step up.

Sincerely,
YOUR NAME
