Confronting Vermont’s False Climate Solutions: Voices from the Frontlines

Confronting Vermont’s False Climate Solutions: Voices from the Frontlines

We can’t solve our way out of the climate crisis by replacing one energy source that’s bad for people and the planet with another. Some of Vermont’s main proposed energy sources sound “green” while actually emitting tons of greenhouse gasses, causing great harm to Indigenous and other local communities, and/or having deleterious effects on the local ecosystem.

Join 350Vermont on the eve of Earth Day to hear from communities who are impacted by some of Vermont’s false “solutions” to the climate crisis, and learn about the effect of our potential energy extraction on their lives and homes.

350Vermont has been advocating for alternative climate solutions that are based in a Just Transition framework. Join us in organizing for a future that is both sustainable and just.

Speakers will include representatives from the North American Megadams Resistance Alliance, speaking about the impacts of hydroelectricity on indigenous communities, and an activist from Delaware organizing against "Renewable" Natural Gas (RNG) and Biogas, who will speak about the impacts of CAFOs and biogas facilities on her family and community.
