This summer, we are witnessing accelerating climate change with more floods ravaging communities and record breaking heat. There is no time to wait: we must meet our energy needs with clean, affordable energy and stop investing in polluting infrastructure and fuels.
On August 10th, Vermonters will call on utilities and elected officials to urgently move away from outdated and dirty energy infrastructure in favor of a clean and affordable energy future. This event is co-sponsored by the Vermont Environmental Justice Network and is part of a national week action organized by the 350 Network Council, 350.org, and People’s Action.
Join usat one of the following plants to rally:
- 11am the Burlington GT Peaker Plant on Burlington’s waterfront, 75 Penny Lane - Speakers will include Kiah Morris and Daisy Bennett
- 9:30am the Ascutney Peaker Plant 776 Route 131, Weathersfield - Speakers will include Earl Hatley and Ana Mejia
- 3pm the Berlin Peaker Plant 144 Nelson Drive, Berlin - Speakers will include Hannah Morgan
The Burlington rally will be followed in the afternoon by a Rally for Housing Justice at Battery Park in Burlington from 1-3pm, organized by Rights and Democracy. On Sunday, August 11th in Concord, NH, New Englanders will participate in a No Coal No Gas regional call to action.
